Mi Hub has more than doubled its validated social value contribution over the past financial year, generating £17.4 million of measurable social value during 2025/26,  a 104% increase on the previous year.

In 2024, Mi Hub launched its Social Value Strategy to create a more focused, measurable approach to delivering positive impact. Built around the company's wider Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, the framework ensures every initiative contributes meaningful value for people, communities and the environment, while providing a transparent and externally verified way of measuring that impact.

Social value goes beyond financial performance. It represents the wider value an organisation creates through its actions, whether that's supporting local communities, reducing environmental impact, creating employment opportunities or investing in people. While profit is measured through traditional accounting, social value measures the positive difference a business makes to society.

When the strategy was introduced, Mi Hub set an ambitious social value target of £250,000 for the 2024/25 financial year. That target was significantly exceeded, with the business delivering £8.5 million in validated social value. Building on that success, Mi Hub has gone even further in 2025/26, achieving an outstanding £17,411,000 in validated social value, an increase of 104% year-on-year.

The achievement reflects the collective impact of initiatives delivered across Mi Hub's four ESG pillars: Carbon, Environment, People and Governance. Social value is generated through a broad range of activities, including supporting local suppliers, creating employment opportunities, investing in employee development, promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, reducing waste and carbon emissions, protecting biodiversity, delivering accredited training, volunteering within local communities, supporting voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, and maintaining responsible business practices throughout its operations.

The business has also continued to support charitable organisations through donations and community partnerships, including providing thousands of garments to organisations such as Phoenix Resource Centre, helping extend the life of products while supporting those in need.

Commenting on the achievement, Guy Battle, CEO of Social Value Portal, said:

"Mi Hub's achievement of over £17 million in validated Social Value is a powerful example of purpose-led business in action. Through thoughtful, measurable initiatives, they've gone above and beyond to deliver meaningful change for individuals, communities, and the planet. Whether it's spending with local suppliers, saving tonnes of carbon, contributing hundreds of hours of employee volunteering, or providing charitable support — including thousands of donated garments to organisations like the Phoenix Resource Centre — they've shown how commercial success can go hand-in-hand with lasting, positive impact."

Steph Barnard, Director of ESG and Risk, said:

"Social value isn't created through one initiative or one department – it's the result of thousands of everyday decisions made across our business. From supporting local communities and reducing our environmental impact to investing in our people and building responsible partnerships, every action contributes to something bigger. Reaching more than £17 million in validated social value is a fantastic achievement and reinforces our commitment to creating positive change wherever we operate."

The results demonstrate Mi Hub's continued commitment to embedding social value across every part of the business. By aligning commercial success with measurable social and environmental outcomes, the company is creating lasting value for customers, colleagues, communities and the wider world.
